Tutorial – Vmware ESXi Security Banner Configuration
First, you need to access the Vmware web interface.
Open a browser software, enter the IP address of your Vmware ESXi server and access web interface.
On the prompt screen, enter the administrative login information.
After a successful login, the Vmware dashboard will be displayed.
On the Vmware Dashboard, Access the Manage Menu.
Access the System tab and select the Advanced settings option.
Select Annotations.WelcomeMessage and click on the Edit option.
On the new screen, enter the Banner message configuration desired.
In our example, the Vmware ESXi server console will present the following message:
Congratulations! You successfully finished the Vmware ESXi Banner configuration.
Maybe you also want to configure a banner message to remote SSH users of the Vmware ESXi server.
To create a banner to SSH users, access the properties of the following advanced configuration option.
• Config.Etc.issue – Banned displayed before SSH login
• Config.Etc.motd – Banned displayed after SSH login
